Real Madrid host Real Sociedad in what is a must-win encounter following slip-ups by Sevilla, FC Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid. As a result, Real Madrid have a huge chance to open a four point gap between themselves and Barcelona and Sevilla with a game in hand. This could be one of the defining moments of the La Liga season.

Thankfully, Varane is back in the lineup, following Zidane’s disastrous experimentation with Casemiro as a libero. This should mean that Nacho moves to left back, while the much maligned Danilo will play at right back. The rest of the lineup should speak for itself.

There aren’t many surprises in the Real Sociedad eleven either, with manager Eusebio Sacristán throwing out one of his strongest lineups possible. Expect Real Sociedad to play for the win, as they probably can sense Madrid’s current state of flux.
Real Madrid can take nothing for granted and must be focused from the off if they are to come away with a win today.
