A few clubs are courting the young striker

Many reports indicate that Real Madrid have received many approaches from Italian and German clubs with a view of taking Mariano Díaz on loan until the end of the season.

The young Dominican striker has scored five goals in his limited minutes, four of those coming in the Copa del Rey, and the second in Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Deportivo a few weeks ago.

The youngster has been building well on his superb goalscoring form from last season, where he scored 27 goals in 32 games for Castilla.

Sevilla are reported to be interested in loaning the 23 year old, but as he has already participated in this season’s Champions League campaign would rule him out of their first knockout stage ties against Leicester (and potential future rounds).

Also, as the Andalusian side face Real Madrid three times this month, it is doubtful that Los Merengues would allow him to play against them, as they seek to extend their impressive unbeaten run.

Mariano is clearly behind Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata in the pecking order, but as Zinedine Zidane has shown so far, he believes in the youngsters abilities, and will surely claim more minutes as the schedule becomes more demanding in the coming months.
