Real Sociedad B are one of my favourite teams in Castilla's group. They offer a huge technical challenge, something many teams at this level cannot bring to the table. What’s more impressive is that last season I did not like them at all. They were over aggressive and reckless. They have completely turned that around this season as we saw in the opening game, just about scraping a 3-2 win at home due to some Sergio Díaz magic! This time it was Castilla's turn to travel to them, and the team knew they needed a top performance to earn the points.
I think Sociedad have been very unlucky. They were much better than us in the first fixture, and started this one very strong too. Although Castilla had played well, not many people will say that the own goal from an Achraf cross which gave Castilla the lead was deserved. That being said, Castilla saw out the half very well and took the lead into the break.

Castilla were without key man Martin Ødegaard who looks to be waiting on a move away from the club, but it didn't show on the pitch as Castilla attacked with fluidity. Sociedad got back into the game when the referee overturned a goal on their behalf to pull it back for a penalty. Luckily for them they buried the penalty to level things up.
The game was close from here on and either team could have stolen the points, but it really looked like it would end a draw. That was until magic man Febas stepped up yet again to beat multiple men before being fouled in the box. Castilla had a penalty of their own. Enzo arose to finish nicely and put Castilla into the lead.
The defence did well to see out the game until Achrad was sent off for a second yellow card, not the first time this year the young man saw red needlessly. Castilla managed to see out the game and earn their first away victory of the season! Brilliant.
One thing I will say, is that this game was almost exactly the same as the previous game, with the biggest difference being that Castilla's defence were solid today. They have come a long way since the start of the season and that is all down to Solari and the players themselves. There are still improvements to be made but they can only get better from here!
Man of the match goes to Mario Hermoso who was in the heart of that strong defence, giving a top performance. Castilla are back next week at home against Real Unión, and will be looking to form a good winning run!
