Although he has not played a single minute with the club yet.

This has been a tough season for Jesus Vallejo so far. The young defender was expected to be one of the most promising players on the roster and while his potential is still there, he has been unable to play a single minute since the season started because of small injuries. Vallejo shared some thoughts in an interview with Marca.

“I like to be challenge, this is a beautiful adventure for me and being a Real Madrid player and competing for a spot in such a big club is very exciting,” said Vallejo.

Vallejo might be forced to be ready to play sooner rather than later as Madrid’s third center-back Nacho Fernandez will now be expected to start in the right-back position because of Carvajal’s pericarditis. This means that Vallejo will be needed as soon as Ramos or Varane miss a game.

The Spanish defender is still 20 years old and showed very good potential last season with Eintracht Frankfurt.
