Costa Rica confirmed today that Keylor Navas has injured his groin and the goalkeeper could miss the next two games for Real Madrid —Getafe and Tottenham— according to the first reports of this injury. The medical report published by Costa Rica mentions that Navas will have to rest at least four days, but he should be considered questionable for the match against Tottenham as well.
Reserve Kiko Casilla will be the man starting in Navas’ spot and he has performed fairly well when he has been given the chance to start. However, it’s also clear that he will lack the time he needs to get in good rhythm, so Real Madrid could struggle a bit with him between the sticks.
Next week’s game against Tottenham is a very important one as both Madrid and the London-based club are even on points in the Champions League group. Navas could try to rush his recovery in order to be ready for that huge away game, although these muscle injuries are always tricky and it would be risky for him to play.
