Alvaro Odriozola is on Real Madrid’s radar, according to reports from Spain. However, the young defender doesn’t want to talk about these rumors and says he’s focused on his new contract with Real Sociedad.
“I just signed a new contract through 2022 and that’s all I’m thinking about right now,” said the young defender in press conference.
Real Madrid could use a defender like Odriozola, especially now that Dani Carvajal is out indefinitely with a pericarditis. Los Blancos surprisingly decided to sell Danilo to Manchester City this summer and are without a pure backup on the right-back spot as Nacho will be the chosen one to play there even if he’s a center-back. Furthermore, Carvajal’s absence means that Varane and Ramos won’t have a reliable replacement if they have to miss a game because Nacho will be expected to play on the right.
Odriozola would be a good signing for Real Madrid but right now it’s a bit premature to talk about potential transfer targets.
