Dani Carvajal’s return to Real Madrid’s starting lineup is getting closer and closer. The defender will train with the squad next week, according to a report from Spanish radio station COPE, even though he will need some more time before he is fit enough to play in a competitive match.

However, take this report with a grain of salt, as Onda Cero suggested the very same thing less than two weeks ago. It’s clear that Carvajal is about to recover from his illness as even Zidane himself admitted that his return is “a matter of days”, but Real Madrid won’t rush him back so Carvajal might not be on the pitch until mid/late November.

Achraf Hakimi and Nacho are the players replacing Carvajal in Real’s starting lineup. The young Achraf has been a pleasant surprise even though it’s clear that Madrid need Carvajal’s help both offensively and defensively as soon as possible.
