Could Real Madrid really sign Neymar next summer?

Neymar is reportedly unsettled at Paris Saint-Germain and while the player and some of his teammates have denied those rumors, reports coming from Spain indicate that Real Madrid could be trying to sign the Brazilian attacker next summer. Neymar left Barcelona after PSG paid €222 million, so could Madrid complete such a move knowing that they’d have to spend a similar fee?

So far, even some Real Madrid players have been ambiguous when asked about Neymar’s potential move to the Spanish capital. Even Casemiro shared some words about these rumors.

“He’s a great player and would be welcomed at Real Madrid. He’s happy with his current club though, but I’d like him to come,” said Casemiro. “We’re always joking about whether he’s going to sign for Real Madrid or not, but he’s happy in his club,” he added. Madrid captain Sergio Ramos also said that he “would obviously sign Neymar for Real Madrid,” when asked about it last week, delivering some intriguing quotes.

Some reports published by Sport and Mundo Deportivo alike suggested that Neymar was preparing himself for a future move to Madrid when he decided to leave Barcelona and join Paris Saint-Germain, and while that might not be as crazy as it sounds, it will be almost impossible for Los Blancos to sign him away from the French club as early as next summer.

All things considered, Real Madrid might as well be interested in Neymar’s talent, but the Brazilian star would have to take things very far for PSG to be willing to negotiate with Los Blancos.
