Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spoke ahead of Tuesday’s away match against APOEL and decided not to rule out the possibility of Los Blancos making some signings this winter.
“This is not the time to talk about this. We’ll talk about it when the day comes, but all I’m thinking of right now is tomorrow’s game and our current squad,” said Zidane when asked about the matter.
He also acknowledged that Karim Benzema “can play better.”
“It’s a little bit of everything. He is the first one who wants to improve and he knows he can play better, but we’re here to help the players and we will be more confident once we score,” added the coach.
Players like Marco Asensio or Dani Ceballos have not played a relevant role in the squad ever since Cristiano Ronaldo came back from his suspension, and Zidane had some interesting words to say about the topic.
“You’ll have to ask them, it’s important to talk to them every once in a while and they know they’re here to work because they’re young. Asensio wasn’t playing much and now he’s important and the same will happen with Ceballos. They have a great future ahead of them, just like Llorente, Achraf...,” added Zidane. “They all have a great future in this team,” he concluded.
