Gareth Bale, Dani Carvajal and Keylor Navas will be available when Real Madrid visit Atletico de Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano on November 18th, meaning that Mateo Kovacic will be the only player on the injury report by then barring any kind of unlucky injury during this FIFA break.
This is most definitely great news for coach Zinedine Zidane, who hasn’t had a healthy squad for quite some time. Real Madrid have struggled early this season and are already eight points behind Barcelona in the table, so they will need any help they can get from the recently recovered players.
Carvajal has been sorely missed. The Spanish defender doesn’t have a clear replacement on the squad and that’s why the young and inexperienced Achraf Hakimi has played more minutes than what Real’s coaching staff had predicted. Furthermore, Varane’s injuries have forced Nacho to play in the center of the defensive line while he could have been the one man deployed on the right. Either way, Carvajal’s return will be extremely helpful.
