Live Discussion: Real Madrid vs PSG, Champions League Round-of-16

Kiyan and Om do a live discussion on Real Madrid’s Champions League draw

Well, this is almost like a Champions League final. Paris Saint Germain may not have the same European DNA as, for example, Bayern or Juve — but they’re insanely talented, have a rip-roaring counter-attack, and could cause Real Madrid problems. Zidane’s men, have until now, struggled with giveaways in their own third, as well as transition defending. Their coverage has been wonky, and the team has relied on the center-backs over-and-over-again to act as desperate stop-gaps when the midfield overcommits forward. On paper, PSG could lick their lips at these opportunities.

We had mixed reactions to this draw, and Om and I discussed the tie thoroughly during today’s live video. Items on the agenda:

  • Our immediate reactions to hearing Real Madrid drew PSG
  • Why we both slightly prefer to face PSG over City; but agree this is the second most difficult draw that could’ve been arranged
  • Missing Dani Carvajal
  • Weakpoints for PSG
  • Things Real Madrid should be concerned about
  • And a ton more.

We do these live videos periodically, and upload them on YouTube afterwards. If you want to be notified when we go live in the future, just give our Facebook page a like.
