AC Milan are hoping to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos on a loan deal which would expire at the end of the season. Ceballos has barely played for Los Blancos this season even though Mateo Kovacic has missed two months with a serious injury, which means that now that the Croatian player has recovered he will have even less minutes, making him expendable at least for the rest of the season.
Still, coach Zinedine Zidane has said on multiple occasions that no player will leave Real Madrid in the winter market when asked about Llorente or Ceballos himself. These are young players who need minutes to develop and improve, so it would make sense for Madrid to let them join other clubs where they could progress and reach their potential if Zidane can’t find them enough minutes.
Ceballos has proved that he belongs but it’s clear that Kroos, Modric and Kovacic deserve to be ahead of him in the rotation.
