Real Madrid target and Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will be out around one month with a broken right foot, the Basque club announced today. Reports coming from Spain suggest that Madrid will sign the keeper this next January and all things considered it seems that Kepa might’ve already played his last game for Bilbao if Los Blancos finally decide to complete the deal this winter.
While Kepa’s deal with Athletic expires next summer and could sign for Real Madrid as a free agent, it looks like Madrid would be willing to spend around €20 million to upgrade the goalkeeper position next January. Apparently, Juventus and PSG are also interested in Kepa but reports from MARCA indicate that those two clubs would not stand a chance unless Madrid change their mind and decide not to sign the Spanish goalkeeper during this winter transfer window.
Kepa is 23 years old and might still be a bit too young to defend Madrid’s goal this season.
