Mbappe confirms there were talks with Real Madrid about his signing

PSG attacker Kylian Mbappe confirmed in an interview with MARCA that it’s true that there were talks about his potential signing for Real Madrid last summer.

“It's true that we spoke, but I believe that it's now in the past for me and for Real Madrid,” says Mbappe in the interview.

Rumors suggested that Los Blancos had agreed a deal for Mbappe but in the end he joined PSG. Apparently, Real Madrid were not willing to give the striker a huge salary at such a young age.

Real Madrid will face Mbappe and his PSG teammates in the Champions League Round of 16, a tie which will be very tough for both sides. Still, Mbappe says that the French club will be going to the Bernabeu to make a statement.

“We know that we can prove a point to the world. It's a game that can go down in our history against the reigning champions and we are all very motivated,” added the attacker, who also said that whoever wins the tie will become favorites to win the European competition.
