Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema picked up a hamstring injury during the first training session after the Christmas break and coach Zinedine Zidane doesn’t have a healthy squad anymore. Here’s the medical report on the attacker.

Following tests carried out on Karim Benzema by the Sanitas Real Madid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in biceps femoris of his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

Most fans have been wanting to see the team without Benzema for a while so it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are actually a better side without him or not. Bale should be completely healthy and ready to go by now so Zidane could try to start him upfront alongside Cristiano Ronaldo with Isco playing behind them.

Benzema should be back in three weeks if his recovery process goes as expected. Los Blancos play against Numancia next Thursday.
