Real Madrid draw Numancia in the next round of the Copa del Rey

Good news for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid will face Numancia in the next round of the Copa del Rey. Los Blancos dismantled Fuenlabrada in the previous round and Numancia should be yet another manageable opponent as they are currently fifth in the Spanish Segunda Division.

Knowing that, Zidane will almost surely use this game to give more chances to reserves like Dani Ceballos, Marcos Llorente or Theo Hernandez.

The opening leg will be played away from the Bernabeu in the first week of January while Los Blancos will host Numancia a week later in the decisive match. It’s clear that Real Madrid should have enough tools to beat Numancia but the same was said about Fuenlabrada and Zidane’s men ended up struggling on the return leg after a very poor performance.

Either way, the Copa del Rey has never been a priority for this club and Zidane’s men will not take it very seriously yet, for better or worse.
