The striker will reportedly leave the club next summer because of his lack of relevant minutes.

Alvaro Morata did not sign for Real Madrid last summer to be Karim Benzema's backup. The striker felt like he earned the right to compete for the starting spot in Real during his two seasons with Juventus, but Benzema has been the undisputed starter for coach Zinedine Zidane in every big match. That's the main reason why Morata will reportedly leave the club next summer, and the attacker himself talked to Il Corriere Dello Sport and confirmed that he wants to play more often.

"I am happy and I want to have success with Real Madrid, but it's true that I want to play more often. We now have the Champions League and La Liga and we'll see whether the coach trusts me or not", said Morata to the Italian newspaper ahead of Madrid's Champions League tie against Napoli (Wednesday, 20:45 CET).

"They know how to play, Callejon, Hamsik and Insigne are very dangerous, they're a great team and they're capable of beating us, just like we can beat them, that's what's good about the Champions League", said the attacker about the matchup against Napoli.
