Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Florida will be the sight of a preseason clash between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Los Blancos have agreed to be a part of the International Champions Cup this summer, which tous the United States. Organizers are saying that it’ll be a week long ‘Super Bowl’ like build-up. There will be concerts, legends games, and more, in the run up to the match.
They are expecting people to fly to Miami from all over the world for this ‘friendly’. In reality, there is no such thing as a ‘friendly’ when it comes to the Royal Whites and the Blaugrana meeting on the pitch. Which makes me nervous, because the last thing we need is extra matches before the start of the next term especially one like this. This translates into a shorter rest period from which to recover from the 2016/2017 term.
Keep in mind what this really is.
There’s still the possibility of Los Blancos taking on the MLS All-Stars as well in Chicago, though I’m hoping they opt out of that one. The preseason El Clásico will take place on July 29th and will be broadcast by ESPN in the United States.
