UEFA have appointed Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli to be the man in charge of the Champions League meeting between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, which will be played at the Allianz Arena this Wednesday (20:45 CET).
Real Madrid have never lost a game where Rizzoli was the referee and he's officiated Los Blancos six times. The last time he called a Real Madrid was when Rafa Benitez's men secured a 0-0 draw at Paris against PSG.
Rizzoli will play a very important role this Wednesday as Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric would miss the return leg at the Bernabeu if they see a yellow card at the Allianz Arena. Both Ramos and Modric are very important for Madrid defensively, so they will have to be careful if they want to play the decisive match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
All in all, Rizzoli is a decent referee who usually makes simple, coherent decisions.
