For my latest work, I’ve depicted the nearly impossible task that Simeone (and Atletico) have of taking over the city of Madrid no matter what they do. On one hand, Simeone has built a formidable foe in the past few seasons since taking over as manager. On the other hand, he himself has admitted it’s gutting to recover from the two Champions League Final losses, and, it’s unfathomably difficult to pry the full attention of a city who focuses so much on Real Madrid’s European, and historical domination over its rivals.
Yesterday’s draw at the Bernabeu wasn’t enough to paint a wheel on dear Cibeles, let alone the entire city.
