Cristiano Ronaldo scores hat trick in Champions League semifinal first leg vs. Atletico Madrid

It’s looking good!

Just 10 minutes into the UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg and Real Madrid have a 1-0 lead at the Bernabeu over their rivals Atletico Madrid. Of course it had to be Cristiano Ronaldo who put in the first goal of the tie. He headed in past Jan Oblak after a mishit shot by Casemiro found its way into the box to send the Real Madrid faithful into delirium early on in this high profile tie.

After coming into play with just one career goal against La Liga clubs in Champions League play, he tripled that total by scoring the second Real goal of the match in the second half to make the scoreline 2-0.

A wicked volley from just inside the box found its way past Oblak for the huge home advantage with 15 minutes remaining. The ferociousness of this shot is something out of this world. It shouldn’t be possible to hit a ball this hard.

If two wasn’t enough of a cushion for Los Blancos heading to the Vicente Calderon next week, then Ronaldo may have sealed it with his third goal of the day. He’s clinched his 42nd (!!!!) Real Madrid hat trick and his 7th in Champions League play heading to the second leg. Unbelievable.
