Real Madrid want to sign Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci this summer, according to Spanish reporter Josep Pedrerol. Apparently, Los Blancos would like to improve their defensive line after Pepe's departure and Bonucci is an improvement, although most likely a fairly expensive one.
Bonucci will not be leaving Juventus for less than €50 million and he is already 30 years old. However, it seems that Real Madrid don't want to rely too much on the injury-prone Raphael Varane this next season, that being the main reason why they will try to sign Bonucci, according to Pedrerol.
Nacho and Jesus Vallejo are Real Madrid's third and fourth option at the center-back position right now. Nacho performed very well when given the chance this past season but might not be ready to be a starter most of the season if Varane gets injured, while this will be Vallejo's first season with the club. Bonucci would most definitely be a very good addition if the coaching staff can't trust Varane's body.
