Fede Valverde joins Deportivo on loan deal

Fede Valverde

Uruguayan midfielder Fede Valverde has officially joined Deportivo La Coruña on a loan deal. Valverde will play in the Galician side for the 2017/18 season, getting some valuable experience in the Spanish Primera Division.

The midfielder is one of Madrid's most intriguing prospects. He recently won the award for the Second Best Player in the FIFA U20 World Cup and his performances for both Castilla and Real Madrid's U19 were solid last season.

It will be interesting to see what Valverde can do in La Liga next year. His potential is fairly high and if he can get minutes with Deportivo he could even be with Madrid's first team in a year or two, just like Marcos Llorente or Casemiro, who followed similar paths.

Valverde will turn 19 years old next month, so he still has room for improvement and time to develop as a player. However, it's clear that he needs to confirm his potential next season if he wants to be elite.
