Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos is on Real Madrid's shortlist, according to reports from Spain. Diario AS believe that he's just "inches away from becoming a Real Madrid player" while Poli Rincon from Cadena COPE says it's "a done deal."
Ceballos has a €15 million release clause on his contract and his current deal expires in 2018.
He's a creative midfielder who's showing a lot of potential in the U21 Euro. However, Ceballos wouldn't have the minutes he needs to develop as a player considering how crowded the midfield line is for Madrid, so he could stay with Betis for a year or join another club on a loan deal just like Marco Asensio did before being a true member of the first team last summer.
Ceballos is a very interesting prospect. He will turn 21 years old next August and still needs minutes to reach his potential. If Real Madrid decide to sign him, he could be a great player for Los Blancos.
