Three reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo won't leave Real Madrid

Seriously, why would he?

Cristiano Ronaldo has been rumored to be on his way out of Real Madrid all summer long. Apparently, his issues with Spain's treasury got in his relationship with the club, as the Portuguese star reportedly wanted more support from the club or even a new deal.

However, it would make no sense for Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid right now. Here's why:

  1. No other club in the world can keep him in the fight to win another Ballon D'Or. Make no mistake about it, Cristiano Ronaldo wants to win as many awards as possible and Real Madrid's success clearly gives him the best chance to do it. If he leaves and joins PSG or Manchester United he would need those clubs to succeed as much as Real Madrid in order to be in contention for the Ballon D'Or.
  2. Real Madrid just completed almost their best season ever. Cristiano Ronaldo stayed even when Los Blancos were not competing, why would he leave now that they are earning such a big success? Furthermore, Ronaldo was a crucial player for the club during this title run, so it's not that he lost status within Real Madrid.
  3. Clubs would need to pay around €160 million for a 32-year-old player. As good as Ronaldo is right now, how many clubs will spend so much for Ronaldo in 2017 knowing that he might just have three or four good years left in the tank? It would be a huge surprise if he left.
