Manchester City are ready to spend close to €30 million on Real Madrid right-back Danilo, or at least that’s what the media are reporting. According to those reports, Pep Guardiola has convinced Danilo of joining Manchester City this summer, something quite shocking considering that the Manchester-based club signed Kyle Walker last week.
Still, it seems that Danilo also wants a bigger role and knowing that he will be a reserve as long as Carvajal is healthy, he would like to leave the club. This has happened to players like James Rodriguez or Alvaro Morata this summer, even after all three of them got minutes last season because of Zidane’s rotation policy.
Either way, Madrid might feel safe about selling Danilo now given that Nacho has proved he can play on the right side of the defensive line whenever Carvajal isn’t available. With central-defender Jesus Vallejo now on the roster, it might be time for Nacho to be the team’s backup right-back.
