Real Madrid and Chelsea confirmed that Los Blancos sold striker Alvaro Morata to Chelsea for €80 million.
Chelsea Football Club and Real Madrid have agreed terms for the transfer of Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge.
The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Morata, 24, is a Spanish international forward, and helped Real to lift a second successive Champions League last season.
Real Madrid also thanked the player for his “professionalism after all the years he spent with the academy.”
This is the end of Morata’s career in Real Madrid, since the last time he left the club Los Blancos kept a buyback option which they triggered last summer.
Morata wanted to be a starter in European football and he was never going to achieve that behind Karim Benzema, so it made sense for Los Blancos to let him go for the reported €80 milion.
