Real Madrid and Manchester City will face each other in Los Angeles as both clubs are set to fight over the transfer of the promising Kylian Mbappe in what could be the most important “match” of the two, as this one is just a friendly after all.
Madrid’s showing against Manchester United proved that Los Blancos still have a long way to go if they want to be ready for the UEFA Supercup. The U21 players like Asensio, Vallejo or Ceballos should not feature tonight either, meaning that the fans will have to wait before seeing what they can bring to the table.
Just like Manchester United, City might not be as rusty as Madrid. They will also have most of their stars with them while players like Toni Kroos —injury, doubtful— , Sergio Ramos —illness— and Cristiano Ronaldo will not be available.
Fans should not expect much out of this game although it’s true that players like Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema will have another chance to prove their worth now that rumors suggest that Madrid could be selling one attacker to make room for Kylian Mbappe.
