Lucas Vazquez to join Newcastle?

Will he have enough minutes this next season?

Reports from England suggest that Newcastle coach Rafa Benitez is trying to sign Lucas Vazquez away from Real Madrid.

The winger began last season being a key player for Zinedine Zidane and the first man off the bench whenever Gareth Bale or even Cristiano Ronaldo were out. However, he wasn’t even on the bench for the Champions League Final against Juventus as Marco Asensio’s emergence as a star sent him out of the rotation. That’s why he could possibly try to leave Madrid and enjoy relevant minutes elsewhere, with the Premier League being an attractive destination for him.

Furthermore, if Madrid end up signing Kylian Mbappe they would have one extra attacker, making things even harder for Vazquez. Right now, Zidane could possibly use him as a backup right back because of his ability to work off the ball, but nobody knows whether he has the defensive awareness needed for that spot.

Lucas Vazquez could indeed be leaving the club this summer.
