Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos has decided to join Real Madrid and the signing will become official this very same weekend, according to reports from MARCA and AS. Therefore, Ceballos has rejected Barcelona's offer.
If those reports are accurate, Ceballos will complete his medical with Real Madrid next Monday, becoming the first official signing of the summer, given that both Vallejo and Llorente were away from the club on loan deals.
Ceballos is a very interesting midfielder and definitely an intriguing prospect. He won the MVP award in the past U21 Euro for Spain and could even have some minutes with Madrid next season. He should be labeled as Modric's long-term replacement given his style of play.
It will be interesting to see what kind of role he plays next season, as the player reportedly wanted to stay with the first team. He should be competing with Mateo Kovacic for the spot behind Kroos and Modric.
