Real Madrid are reportedly trying to sign one of Barcelona’s primary targets for this summer, Ousmane Dembele. The young winger from Borussia Dortmund is on Barça’s shortlist to replace Neymar but Los Blancos seem to be standing in the middle, according to reports from Sport and Mundo Deportivo.
Real Madrid would need a backup striker or one that could compete with Karim Benzema for a spot in the starting lineup. Dembele is a pure winger, one who could play in both wings and create chances for his teammates, so unless Cristiano Ronaldo is in fact going to be deployed in the center of Real’s offensive line when Benzema isn’t available, Madrid don’t need Dembele right now.
However, it’s clear that they didn’t need Ceballos either and they still prevented him from signing for Barceona. It looks like Real Madrid might end up not signing Kylian Mbappe after all, so Dembele could be a good option if Zidane is planning on using Cristiano Ronaldo as a pure striker this season.
