The reported deal includes a four-year deal with an option for a fifth, and a reported salary of six million euros yearly. Isco’s previous deal was set to expire next year, and he was already included in transfer rumours with large European clubs.
Real Madrid ensured that the Spanish midfielder would stay in Madrid no matter what club comes calling, including everyone’s favourite club at the moment, Paris Saint-Germain. The contract reportedly includes a 700-million-euro release clause to fend off potential suitors for Isco.
AS are reporting that the deal was signed last month before Real came to the United States for their pre-season tour. Making it public wasn’t part of the plans until this month.
Isco certainly deserves the new deal. He had an incredibly positive pre-season tour in the United States. His play has made lineup decisions more difficult for Zinedine Zidane as the start of La Liga edges closer.
