it’s time for a true El Clásico.

Remember when Real Madrid and Barcelona met in Miami for a meaningless pre-season El Clásico? Now these two teams meet again for a real trophy in a true game of football.

Madrid will be without Luka Modric —suspended— but Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to make his return to the team’s starting lineup after coming off the bench against Manchester United. Mateo Kovacic will be looking forward to replacing his countryman but Zidane could also choose Isco if he wants to start the BBC again.

On the other hand, Barcelona will obviously be without Neymar and Gerard Deulofeu looks like the man who will fill the Brazilian star’s shoes at least until either Dembele or Coutinho sign for Barça. Deulofeu is a streaky player and even though he is a clear downgrade compared to Neymar, right-back Dani Carvajal will need to be careful with him if Madrid want to conquer the trophy.

Away goals are extremely valuable here as the second leg of this Spanish Supercup will be played at the Bernabéu next Wednesday, so Madrid should come out firing on all cylinders in order to have the edge come the return leg.
