After an interesting Spanish Super Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo, the official suspension has been handed down to the Real Madrid star. He will be suspended five games for Los Blancos after two yellow cards and pushing the referee in Real’s 3-1 win over Barcelona Sunday.

The first of Ronaldo’s two yellow cards came after a cheeky celebration after his wonder goal in the second half. The second yellow was given to Ronaldo for what the referee saw as a dive in the box. After receiving the second yellow card Ronaldo proceeded to give the referee a little shove in the back as he walked off in disgust.
Real will appeal to lower the suspension to four games, should the the committee make the decision that the second yellow card wasn’t deserved. In all likelihood the suspension will likely be less than the five that have been initially given.
