Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press ahead of Wednesday’s match against Barcelona and didn’t mince his words about Cristiano Ronaldo’s five-game suspension.

"We are very upset that Cristiano will miss five games. When you see that he will not be playing for the next five games you know something is going on... Very little happened, but the punishment is a lot. So of course we're upset. I don’t know what will happen. I am saying what I am feeling at the moment, after having seen the game again. It’s normal to be upset. I don’t know if there’s a campaign against Ronaldo, I hope not. I don’t want to get into this, but in the end, this does not deserve five games,” said the French coach.

Zidane also added that his current players will stay with the club, meaning that no big players will be moved before the transfer window shuts.

“Everyone will stay,” he said. However, when asked about whether the club are planning on making big signings or not, he added that “everything can happen until August 31st.”
