Marca are reporting that Real Madrid and president Florentino Perez wish to increase Marco Asensio’s release clause as well as give him an improved salary.

The youngster’s stellar run for Real in preseason and the Super Cup unsurprisingly caught the attention of some of the bigger European clubs. Real wish to nix the transfer rumors early on by giving Asensio a raise and putting him in the range of a 500 million euro buyout clause.

In addition to the increased buyout clause Real reportedly wish to give Asensio a raise as well. Bumping his current salary from 3.5 million euros to 4.5 million euros and extending his contract to 2023.

Real Madrid have wisely given Asensio increased playing time to reward his productivity on the pitch. His stellar performances have caught the eye of the world and Madrid fans alike. Locking him down till 2023 and raising both his salary and buyout clause would be just another set of wise moves from Perez and the Real board this summer.
