Real Madrid kick off their defense of the La Liga title by visiting Deportivo La Coruña’s Riazor without Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be serving the second game of his five-match suspension after pushing the referee in the past Spanish Super Cup Final.

Mateo Kovacic will also miss the game, just like Jesús Vallejo. Both are recovering from small injuries and should be ready in a few days.

Considering that Madrid played some tough away games recently and that this is just the beginning of the season, some key starters might need some rest. Men like Marcelo, Carvajal, Varane or Benzema will be much needed down the road and their reserves will surely be looking forward to proving their worth. However, it’s true that Zidane might be trying to consolidate his team early this season and therefore no heavy rotations are expected.

Real Madrid predicted XI: Navas, Carvajal, Nacho, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Bale, Benzema.

Deportivo predicted XI: Martinez, Juanfran, Schar, Sidnei, Luisinho, Borges, Guilherme, Mosquera, Cartabia, Bakkali, Andone.
