Gareth Bale is injured again. The Welsh attacker left Tuesday’s training session with an ankle injury and might need to spend some time on the sidelines, although the injury doesn’t appear to be too serious given that he tried to just play through it for some time and some reports indicate that he could even be ready for the match against the MLS stars.
Bale’s injuries are always tricky and he could potentially miss next week’s match against Manchester United in the UEFA Supercup. A healthy Bale should be Madrid’s priority right now after what happened when the Welshman tried to come back too soon last season, so Zidane will most likely not risk him and start Marco Asensio or Isco Alarcon instead.
One has to wonder if Bale will be able to complete a full season without a major injury at this point. He hasn’t been healthy ever since he signed for Real Madrid and he’s 28 years old, meaning that he should be entering his prime right now.
