Real Madrid drew Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham and Apoel for the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League Group Stage in which they will be defending the title for the second consecutive year. The other team is yet to be drawn.

It’s clear that Real Madrid have the quality to advance to the next round by winning their group. It will be crucial to do so because they will be facing much more manageable opposition in the Round of 16 and they will also play the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Los Blancos didn’t win their group last season and managed to beat Napoli in quite convincing fashion over the two legs, meaning that coach Zinedine Zidane will also use his roster wisely while the team has to play two matches every week.

Winning a third consecutive Champions League title would be a tremendous achievement for Madrid and it will be a tough challenge, one that they must accept if they want to win all six titles available this year.
