Emilio Butragueño shared some words about Real Madrid’s group in the Champions League. Los Blancos will be facing tough competition in Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham and yet the away match against APOEL could also be crucial.
"We know Borussia well and we know it has always been very difficult against them. Tottenham are a very powerful team and APOEL are going to be dangerous at their place and they’ll make it difficult for us,” he explained.
"They’re not easy opponents at all. We’re talking about the Champions League, everyone wants to give their best and if you are not at your highest level you’ll have problems. We’ll have to be at our best in order to qualify,” said Butragueño.
El Buitre refused to label Real Madrid as the favorites to win the competition for a third straight time.
"There’re a lot of teams that start today with that tag. We’re the champions from the last two seasons, we have a great team and a winning spirit. But this competition takes you to the limit in all aspects. It depends on a lot of factors and we must think about making it through the Group Stage. Hopefully we’re in the draw for the last 16 as winners of our group,” he added.
