Asensio’s nickname inside the dressing room revealed

It’s a good one.

Marco Asensio is arguably one of the most intriguing players Real Madrid have on their roster right now. The Spanish player has started the season on fire and his match against Valencia, where he scored a brace, has proved that he is ready to be a regular starter for the club.

Such a quality player deserves a quality nickname, and Asensio is called “Torero” —bullfighter, matador— inside the dressing room, according to right-back Dani Carvajal, who also explained why they chose that name.

“We call Asensio “Torero” because when he first came he had long hair and looked like Cayetano Rivera. Ramos and Nacho were the ones who first called him that name,” revealed Carvajal.

It’s up to you to decide whether Asensio actually looks like Cayetano or not, but “Torero” is a decent nickname for a player of his ability to dribble and finish scoring chances. If you have better suggestions, make sure you leave a comment below.
