Real Madrid were back in training at Valdebebas today after a long pre-season stage in the United States. Cristiano Ronaldo joined the group for the first time this summer after playing in the Confederations Cup and will try to play against Barcelona in the Spanish Supercup.

Other than that, Real’s training session went ahead as scheduled. Los Blancos will be facing Manchester United next Tuesday and they need to be in good shape for that match considering how poorly they’ve performed in the United States. Athletic trainer Antonio Pintus designed a busy pre-season so that his players could be in shape in early August but that wasn’t very helpful when Los Blancos played against Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and the MLS All-Stars.

Either way, next Tuesday is when the real fun begins and the players should be more than ready to bring home the first trophy of what will be a long campaign.
