Is he playing mind games?

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho delivered an interesting quote ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Supercup game between the British club and Real Madrid. The Portuguese coach confirmed his interest in Welsh winger Gareth Bale.

“If Bale doesn’t play this UEFA Supercup I will fight for his signing,” said the coach.

Is Mourinho really interested in Bale or is he trying to get the Welshman out of Real’s starting XI? United’s coach likes to play mind games and this could be yet another lie to increase United’s chances of winning. Bale is expected to start the game even though he picked up a small ankle injury last week. He recovered in time for the game and is ready to go.

Either way, reports from The Guardian suggest that Real Madrid will not be selling Gareth Bale this summer, so Mourinho’s tactics will most likely not be successful and Bale will be in Real’s starting XI this Tuesday.

It will be interesting to see what Zidane has to say about this.
