After a long pre-season, Real Madrid’s awaited debut is here as they face Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the UEFA Supercup Final. Los Blancos didn’t perform well on their four friendlies on American soil but players and coaching staff alike felt comfortable and satisfied with the work they did and said that they met their goals.

Tonight, they will have their first chance to prove that their work paid off. Cristiano Ronaldo traveled with his teammates but he began his pre-season last Saturday, meaning that it could be risky to give him relevant minutes. However, reports from Spain suggest that Zidane could use the Portuguese star tonight in order to have him fully ready for the upcoming Spanish Supercup against Barcelona.

Either way, Manchester United will surely be trying to make a statement ahead of their return to Champions League football. Mourinho clearly wants to win this trophy and even though the Red Devils have been labeled as the underdogs for this one, Madrid better be careful if they want to conquer the Supercup.
