Formula 1 legend Fernando Alonso will become Real Madrid’s newest honorary club member this next Monday, the club confirmed via an official announcement published on their website.

Real Madrid have stated that on Monday, 4th September, at 1:00pm CEST at the Santiago Bernabéu presidential box, the naming of Fernando Alonso as an honorary club member of Real Madrid will take place. Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid and Fernando Alonso will both attend.

Fernando Alonso is a true Real Madrid fan, as his multiple tweets and quotes throughout the years prove.

Alonso will be driving in the Italian Grand Prix in Monza this weekend. He’s a two-time F1 world champion and the greatest Spanish driver in the history of motorsport. He’s currently competing for the team McLaren-Honda, although he might be leaving at the end of the season.

The driver will surely share some words during the ceremony next Monday.
