Real Madrid published the medical report on Karim Benzema.
Following tests carried out on Karim Benzema at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the semimembranosus of his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.
The French attacker has a classic hamstring injury which could keep him out at least one month. This is terrible news for Real Madrid, as Los Blancos will be completely depleted upfront when they visit Real Sociedad next weekend. Ronaldo will be available against APOEL but he will still need to serve one more game in La Liga before his ban ends.
Gareth Bale will most likely be Benzema’s replacement against Real Sociedad as Zinedine Zidane clearly doesn’t trust Borja Mayoral just yet. Ronaldo and Benzema won’t be out at the same time that often but Real Madrid probably made a mistake by deciding not to sign another striker this summer.
