German attacker Timo Werner has reportedly emerged as one of Real Madrid’s main targets to improve the offensive line next summer. Werner himself delivered some interesting quotes in an interview with Sport Bild and admitted that he’d play for Real Madrid while mentioning other “big clubs” as well.
“I can’t promise I’ll be here next season,” says Werner. “I’ve been doing well with Leipzig but it’s clear that I’d like to play for a big club in the future, although maybe Leipzig will become a big club soon,” he added.
When asked about the big clubs he might be considering, Werner mentioned Real Madrid.
“You got three big clubs in Spain like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico, you got some other big clubs in England like Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, the Manchester clubs...” he explained.
While it’s clear that he didn’t acknowledge Real’s interest, it seems that Werner would be keen on a move away from Leipzig in the future, meaning that Real Madrid could get their man if they really try to sign him.
