Real Madrid vs APOEL (20:45 CET, 02:45pm EST, 11:45am Pacific) - Match Preview
Los Blancos take on APOEL trying to bounce back from their disappointing draws against Valencia and Levante in La Liga. It will be important for Los Blancos to begin their defense of the title with a good performance.

Marcelo signs new deal through 2022.
Real Madrid confirmed Marcelo’s contract extension with the club and announced that the Brazilian defender will speak to the press this Thursday.

More on Marcelo. He will miss the next two La Liga games.
The defender was sent off against Levante and the Spanish Football Federation handed him a two-game suspension. He will miss the trip to Real Sociedad and the home match against Betis.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back. Asensio not available.
The Portuguese star will be in Real’s XI against APOEL. Keylor Navas, Varane and Modric will also return to the team but Asensio will not be available.

Timo Werner says he’d play for Real Madrid.
It’s not much, as he also mentioned other “big clubs” like Barcelona, Atletico, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham or Manchester United and Manchester City. Still, it seems that he would be keen on leaving Leipzig soon and Madrid might need another striker.
