Real Madrid announced that Karim Benzema has signed a contract extension with the club which will keep him in Madrid until the summer of 2021. Benzema will officially sign his new deal on Thursday and then he will speak in press conference also.

The French attacker will turn 30 years old next December, meaning that he will be 33 when his new deal expires. All things considered, it definitely looks like Benzema could retire with the club as he signed away from Lyon in 2009.

Benzema is currently injured and is not expected to be back for the next two or three weeks. He picked up a worrying hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw against Levante and players like Cristiano Ronaldo or Borja Mayoral will need to replace him in the center of Real’s offensive line while he’s out.

Coach Zinedine Zidane confirmed that he has also signed a contract extension with Real Madrid.
