On the latest Managing Madrid Podcast, we were flooded with comments and questions from fans about Gareth Bale’s very Balesque goal against Real Sociedad. There seemed to have been a collective sigh of relief when the Welshman scored a goal that was much needed not only for the team, but also for his confidence levels.

It wasn’t just that Bale scored a great goal and helped Real Madrid win. Fans seemed to be universally relieved that Bale hadn’t lost his pace and athleticism, clocking in a sprint at lightning speed to ensure Real Madrid sealed three points at Anoeta in fashion.
